If I "May"

 "It's the breeze that gets me, something about how the air smells after the rains - the glow of the light through the trees." I kept coming back for more...Until I finally signed a lease to move to Portland in May! :) It's funny how you end up in places that you never really expected you'd be in. Take the apartment I selected as an example. I had a larger one-bedroom picked out in the heart of Alberta, right above my favorite plant store. It took a good friend (Who is also in route to Portland soon!) to get me to view an apartment on his behalf, and upon viewing and filming each apartment in this gorgeous complex, I kinda fell in love with the building and chose a much more humble and small studio with an alcove that will just fit my queen-sized bed! Amenities! That is what sold me, a gorgeous massive gym, game room, and multiple rooftop spaces to hang when I start carving out time to date again, invite friends over and host my many bay area loves.  I can't s...

15 Days

 Tonight I'm sitting here in my half-empty apartment and wondering how much different my life will be fifteen days from now... I'm reviewing the last couple years and what I have witnessed, how I have felt, and also how I have changed. The world still turns but yet I am reminded to be grateful for the small moments, the little gestures of kindness, and the laughter from those who I love. I feel fortunate to be able to do what I am about to do, and I've been inspired by others who have also sought out this journey to try and better their lives by moving or changing the scenery.  After going through physical life changes and medical scenarios one must think that bravery is heightened and fear perhaps a driving force to propel one's self into situations they know they can't live without.
